The game just went gold yesterday and now, thanks to the developer powers that be and the XBLM, you can play it today. Available as a 674Mb download to all Xbox Live regions is a super new Virtua Fighter 5 demo that we hear is smoother than butta and more fun than a barrel of tacos. We’re not sure what we mean by that, but darned if we’re not excited and surprised to be getting to play Virtua Fighter 5 today. Thanks SEGA, you made our day and as a thank you we’ll buy lunch next time. Are tacos fine?

Onyx alpha demo online.

Onyx is a visual performance tool that allows one to mix video live - whether it be for club visuals, live performances, or art installations.  This is a very stripped down alpha build meant for the web, so there are limited capabilities … it’s just up here so you can play with it.
features:

- ability mix 6 layers of video
- ability to extend the core filters and effects using Adobe’s Actionscript 3.0
- ability to compile mixed clips into
- ability to receive video sources from external input, such as webcams or even through the internet using an rtmp source

alpha notes:

- right now only flv’s are accepted.  Older versions had accepted swf’s, but Flash Player 9 does not currently support AS 1.0 or 2.0 swfs.
- some of the filters and effects do not have all their controls added, these will be added in the next release.
- in the online version, you may have issues loading more then 2 videos at a time (or at least until the file have been fully downloaded)

  6. Hey guys — I’m still in the midst of a redesign — The features I was wanting to add were really cluttering up the interface. I’ll be posting new designs soon.

If anyone would like to collaborate let me know — snap-to-beat, audio in/out, and visual remoting are the biggest features on my list — but I want to know how you guys want to use onyx — or how you currently use VJ software …

  8. Hi Dan,

    great work,

i’m really looking for the ability to mix multiple usb cam live? can onyx do this?

also when do you plan on a downloadable version?

    thanks

  9. Hi Jac –

Onyx will be able to take multiple camera feeds no problem — actually, with the demo online, you should be able to do it (they should show up in the file browser)

I hope to have a new version up by next weekend — with a downloadable version available hopefully within a month after that time — a lot of it is dependant on the Apollo Beta Release.

The sooner that ships, the sooner Onyx will ship.

  10. Dan - looks like a lot of hours have
    been put in this.
Controlling via midi devices would be nice.
And maybe try to get rid of the
    mouse & keyboard if possible.

    Well done.

Devil May Cry 4 Demo Coming Soon To PS3, Xbox 360

The news coming out of the Capcom camp is that there is a new demo of Devil May Cry 4 which will hit very soon on the Xbox 360 and possibly the PS3 as we
The belief is that the new demo is going to be available in Japan only at first on the Xbox 360. It will then branch outward and be on the Sony in Japan as well.

From there the hope for the rest of the world is that the demo is going to be released in Europe and North America so everybody else can get their hands on one of the most highly-anticipated next-gen titles for next year.

The demo is due to hit Japan before the end of this year which gives it about a 5-week window to release.

With Devil May Cry 4 set to release in early 2008 or around there, it would be no surprise if this demo reached North America by January or very early February. Keep your fingers crossed on this one!
