Cate West (game)

Many games are overly complicated. There are too many buttons, upgrade paths and multi-key presses required to do a simple thing. However, there are two game publishers that I really enjoy, Pop-cap games and Retro64. Their games are simple to play and neither of them install spyware, visitware, remindware etc…Yesterday, Retro64 announced two new games, “Cate West” and “Go Go Gourmet”. I […]

Safety Crash Test (video)

What happens if you take a fairly new compact car and smash it against a crash tested, highly safety rated Volvo? According to the video, you are supposed to imagine your family in one or the other. Which would you pick? You only get one choice: The compact car or the Volvo. BTW, I actually […]

Helio Ocean in Transformers Game (video)

Remember the old Reeses commercial? “You got peanut butter on my chocolate”, “You got chocolate on my peanut butter” If not click (here) Well, this is kind of similar. I have Transformers (the game) on my helio. Now, as you can see, there is a helio in the Transformers game. A very sharp eyed person pointed […]

Lotus Deluxe (game)

Fans of Bejeweled and Zuma will probably enjoy this puzzle game. Very colorful graphics and great music along with maddening screen action make this a perfect addition to your game collection. I could not find the original manufacturer of this game, so I am going to link to the distributor (here). If I find out […]

BBC on Penguin Discovery (video)

The BBC has a short clip about their new webstreaming service and they are advertising it by showing a clip of a newly discovered breed of penguin. Possibly created by the global warming crisis, these penguins have adapted remarkably well in their changing climate. The video is only about 1 min 30 seconds long and is worth […]

Resizing those thumbnails

A week or two ago Steve Garfield tried out blip and had one comment: He asked that we not resize thumbnails that are 361 pixels wide instead of the (admittedly preferred) 360 pixels.

Well, Steve, request met. Blip will now resize thumbnails that are larger than 550 pixels wide (or 350 pixels tall) but no smaller. We’ll leave the smaller thumbnails alone.

This means that you can upload that six megapixel photo you took on your digital camera and we’ll resize it to a decent size. It also means that you can upload a screenshot of your video player and not have to worry if it’s exac ctly 360 pixels wide. Sound good?

See that, blip makes videoblogging easier. Every day.

Slurpr demo for Werner Vogels

DinnerYesterday evening I had some people over for dinner including Werner Vogels. He is the CTO of Amazon.com. He noticed my Slurpr and wanted to know what it does and how it worked. I showed the device and told him all about it. Then he persuaded me to pitch the device on video for him. This was at the end of the evening after a lot of champagne and wine and I was very tired.

Codelog Theme

The Codelog theme is a stylish and lightweight two-column WordPress theme. It is compatible with WordPress versions from 2.0; when used with WP 2.3, it also supports WordPress tags. The theme uses a couple of icons from the marvellous Silk iconset.

If plain blogging is what you do, this theme is for you. The only features of this theme are fast loading, clean code and the elegant look. Ok, it also comes with multi-language support (German already included). But that’s it, less is more!

What else is there to say? Nothing. Get it and enjoy!

Download the Codelog theme v0.1 as .zip or as .tar.gz

Note: If you can’t open any of the packages, please try with 7zip. If you post a comment regarding problems with unpacking, please include the sentence “I have tried with the latest 7zip”, or prepare to be ignored.
